Keith,

I've seen what you said over at CRN.Mis)Info? and you are dead on: "No matter what I say, you will find fault. That’s the goal, isnt’ it?"

It absolutely is. And odd, they are the ones who say that those of us who hold to the doctrines of grace are the ones who are "narrow-minded."

I say we will find many of them here: "always learning but never able to acknowledge the truth. Just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so also these men oppose the truth..."(2 Timothy 3:7-8a)

Well look at that. God the Holy Spirit named names in this judgment on the actions of those who were in apostasy. And so should we.

Keith,

No, Ken never even attempts to actually converse while there... most the time it is put downs and sarcasm... but he never actually engages in dialog to discuss the issues we have with his posts.

Again, I find Chris L to be fair in his assessment. And if you do care to dialog on the accusations you laid out against the ministers according to how the bible teaches instructs us... everyone there would be happy to do so.

You will find that a lot of harm has happen and many have been hurt by hit pieces. I think that is you truly care to work out the issues you have with the ministers you posted about, that you will find we are willing to listen.

Humility is needed on both sides and I will say that dealing with Ken Silva that there was always a side lacking in humility and brotherly love... and it was not from us.

BTW I am not a Calvinist, so as far as doctrines of Grace I do not hold to the Calvinist definitions... yet, Ken accuses me of not being saved... (his judgement of me) and though I hold to salvation by grace through faith, he asserts I am semi pelagian...

The truth is I hold that we are saved, and sustained by the same Grace... while Ken believes Grace is nothing but a bar of soap to use when one sins...

I hold a higher view of grace, yet i am not saved according to Ken Silva who is the Judge of men's souls and seems to have the Lamb's Book of Life on his coffee table at home to be able to claim that about me. LOL!

Be blessed,

Keith,

I wanted to let you know that it is hard to "oppose truth" when one beleives Jesus is the Truth Incarnate... and from Him all truth flows...

So, either believe me in that I am not against truth... or Ken that states I am... In fact i know none of my "emergent" friends that are against truth as Ken states so regularly about them and me.

So, maybe a better verse for Ken to quote would be self applicable... like 1 John 2:10-11.
He seems more concerned to tell all what HE THINKS we believe than to actually listen and understand what we believe. He is ""always learning but never able to acknowledge the truth." and would rather state lies against people like me than love us...

My thought on Ken Silva are these... though as I say I hope for better things.

Proverbs 18:A fool finds no pleasure in understanding but delights in airing his own opinions.

I'm just wondering how he got a picture of Ken for the post. I've been looking for one for awhile now...

Hi Keith I`m back again! You went to look at my profile on blog but I don`t usually blog there. I do read the Bible every day and go online to bibles and tools to help me understand. I pray and pray and pray, you might say I have a running conversation with Jesus and God every minute of the day. Every 5 steps I take I lose my balance even hanging on to things. Giving my 4 year old a bath cooking cleaning washing for my family is a struggle even more so when I have a fall or several falls. God hears from me............he knows whats in my heart and I didn`t come to him for superficial things, I came because there is no one else that was strong enough to get me thru my struggles in life.......no one heard but Jesus. My church and my struggles may not be your standards of how I should see God and Jesus but I am learning and God will show me the path I need to follow. In case you don`t remember this is about "The Cool Church" actually TCC and Pastor David MaCallister... http://www.myspace.com/mamasathome this would be the space about my walk with Jesus to know God..........http://nacomparan.spaces.live.com/ and this space to. I read different postings to find out how other christians are walking and what they`ve learned along the way. I don`t go out much except to church on sundays and grocerys stores 1-2 times a month so most of my visiting is done online. Some disabled people are isolated and alone and the computer and internet throws open the door wide! so nice vistin......but I still think .........your wrong about my pastor and our church.

Nacotaco:
You know what...I am sincerely happy for you that you are growing in your walk with God. If my post was offensive to you, I apologize. Thanks for stopping by. We'll just have to "agree to disagree" on the church thing.

Unknown said...

Then you really are not apologizing?

that seems a bit of double talk there.

But that seems to be what i find from the crew you run with.

iggy

Keith said...

No. The double talk is that in order for my apology to be sincere, I have to agree with her?!

I don't agree with you, but I believe you're sincere about what you believe. You're entitled to that.

"The crew I run with" doesn't agree with the crew you run with. It's pretty simple. I don't expect you to convert to "our side." I know you're not that easily swayed. Let's move along, shall we?

Unknown said...

I left "your side" because I saw how they treated people and I fell more in love with Jesus.

Keith said...

And so, ALL people on "my side" don't love Jesus?

nacotaco said...

ok Keith and Keith the hair thing ....made me smile! Thanks

See, Iggy. Nacotaco accepted my apology. She really didn't need you to protect her from me and "my crew." And she even thought the "hair thing" was funny!

I have a good friend that is Arminian; I am Calvinist (I really don't like those terms, but I think you understand what I mean). He can't figure out how in the world I get predestination, i.e. God choosing some for salvation while passing over others, out of the Scriptures. I don't see how HE doesn't see it. We take (good natured) jabs at each other all the time. He sends me satirical blog posts about Calvinists; I send him stuff about Arminians. We "make fun" of each other all the time--but that doesn't mean neither one of us is a Christian and it doesn't mean we can't have some common ground between us...and WE DO! We don't agree on many things, but I'd take a bullet for the guy (some are probably hoping right now that I will!).

Come on. Take at look at those three pics again and tell me honestly--if you didn't know that guy and you saw that on a website...you know you'd at least smile!!! Maybe even as big as smile as you've got in your profile pic!

Keith,

Like I stated, my sister in law sent to Dan's church and was distracted by his hair... as it was soooo perfect! LOL!

I am glad to see you put the disclaimer... and I am glad we seem to be not going in that "other" direction of lobbing accusations at each other.... Like I stated, I sorta like you! LOL!

OK, I do, I admit it! Sheesh...

and no apology needed here to me... but I do apologize if i was a bit too heavy handed with you. (weighing close to 300lbs at 6'2" I tend to have a few heavy things about me!)

BTW, I am neither Arminian or Calvinist... I have a Charismatic background and tend greatly toward the "exchanged life" as taught by Maj Ian Thomas... I have been greatly changed by Grace!

(Can I get an Amen!)
