Frozen

It's been raining/sleeting all day long. The high temp was mid-20s, so everything is coated with ice. They cancelled Sunday School this morning, but had Worship Service. They cancelled Evening Worship and all other church activites for the next two days, since the forecast is for continued rain/sleet/winter storms.

We have a tree in our front yard that will probably come down due to the ice/weight. There are LOTS of trees all around town and especially north of us that have seen a lot of damage as well.

WoW! That's quite the storm! And those things are so trecherous! I remember an ice storm back in
1976. http://www.midmichiganweather.com/1976icestorm.html It was unbelievable! So many trees were destroyed from the weight of the ice. The ice was so thick on my car windows and doors it was impossible to get into the car. It sure was beautiful though. I lived above a restaurant at the time and they used a generator to power their business, otherwise I would have been without power for AT LEAST three days. It could have been longer. I remember it seemed to take FOREVER restore power.

From the 80 degree temperature in Florida we feel your pain. We will lose sleep tonight, Keith, over your predicament.

Really, though, stay safe!

WOW! That brings back some memories of the ice storms when I lived in New York. Makes me glad I saw the light and came here to Florida!
Careful, brother, nothing more dangerous that being near those trees covered with ice!!

Finally got to a place where I have internet access. We have no electricity, no heat, no means of cooking, etc. But we have no damage to our home and we do have a roof over our head. Praise God!

I'll be back when I get a chance.

How long do they think it's going to take before power is restored? Do you at least have a fire place? Grill? We had a propane stove with a burner and used that to cook with when we had no electricity. It's an interesting way to have to think when you don't have things at your finger tips when we are use to it. "Can't use the stove cause I have no electricity, good thing I have that microwave!"

btw way, I like your ice pictures--and may the Lord keep you and yours!

P.S. that was a propane GRILL, not stove.

Glad to hear you're safe. I'm sure I wasn't the only one praying that you and yours were OK. Take care. Sorry I can't do anything more than pray, kinda far away to do much good.

Thanks to all for your prayers! We now have electricity...but another storm is looming. Weatherman/woman is predicting 2 to 6 inches of snow by end of Saturday.
