Friday Photos

I haven't had much time this week to write about the Shepherds' Conference. Hopefully I'll have some time this weekend or next week. Simply stated: It was a great week--encouraging, restless and tiring at the same time. The worship times were unbelievable. Clayton Erb is by far the best Worship Leader/Minister I've ever seen.

One of the week's highlights is the "book give-away" on Thursday. Good stuff. Another plus, the Conference has two bookstores amply stocked. Needless to say: I like books--so I bought some! There were three of us that went to the Conference together; we bought so many books (plus the freebies) we had to ship them home via UPS. The books arrived this past Wednesday--it was just like Christmas!

Books from Shepherds' Conference

I took the picture below on my way home from work this week. Some churches really know how to market themselves--and Jesus' resurrection. 'Nuff said.

man, this is so sad to me. on the one hand i applaud the desire to reach unsaved people. but on the other, Jesus is so much bigger than a gas pump. I guess the question becomes: is Jesus worth ten bucks in your gas tank? i would love to see a sign that says, "this easter, come find out why you are in much worse shape than you ever feared, and that Jesus can love you so much more than you ever hoped!"

"This easter, come find out..." That would require a much bigger sign...but it's a much bigger and BETTER message!

I guess the fact that HE loved us enough to die in our place isn't enough for most people...
John 6:26 ¶ Jesus answered them and said, "Truly, truly, I say to you, you seek Me, not because you saw signs, but because you ate of the loaves and were filled. (or got a free $10.00 gas card and concert)
John 6:27 "Do not work for the food which perishes, but for the food which endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give to you, for on Him the Father, God, has set His seal."

Keith - the Seeds of Compassion conference is not about a panel discussion about religions, it is about all religions coming together to show a unified compssion to the world's childre.

What a demonic srtategy, compassion + children, who could be against that. The children of this world are wiser than the children of the kingdom.

Thanks Keith,

I wish I could have gone to the Shep Conference. However, the True Church 2008 was awfully good. Learned, sang, prayed, sang, listened, sang, encouraged, sang...you get the picture.

What a bunch of hateful fundamentalist Calvinists I guess.
