Good Friday / Friday Photos

Good Friday
Today is "Good Friday," the day that many (most?) people believe Jesus Christ was crucified. Prior to sunset that day, his body was taken down from the cross and places in a tomb...but Sunday morning, when Mary Magdalene, Peter and John came to the tomb they discovered that the stone covering the tomb had been rolled away and Jesus' body was not there. He had risen just as he said he would!

...and He said to them, "Thus it is written, that the Christ would suffer and rise again from the dead the third day, and that repentance for forgiveness of sins would be proclaimed in His name to all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem. --Luke 24:46-47 NASB

Easter Traditions
One of the Easter traditions people observe is to go out and buy new clothes to wear to church on Easter Sunday. Well, most people buy new clothes. We knew some people years ago that had their own "tradition." They had several children and didn't make a lot of money, so each Easter they would go a department store and "purchase" Easter outfits for the family on their credit card. Easter morning, they would go to church in their pretty new clothes, being very careful not to soil them...then, yep you guessed it...they would return the clothes the next day for a credit on their card! Mission accomplished! Everyone got to wear something new on Easter and it didn't cost them a dime. The mom was quite proud of herself for devising such a cost-saving solution. I just thought it bordered on stealing.

Hi Keith, just dropping by to see what you wrote for Easter...I have been reading in Exodus and am amazed how everything fits so neatley into Jesus`s death. The bible is like a puzzle and every chapter from OT [corealates]fits into the NT. I love learning about Jesus and God. I was given an NIV bible, all the extra info paints a fuller picture for me....and the christian blogs I encounter just wonderful....anyways thanks for good reading Keith!.....nancy

nacotaco: We tend to think that the New Testament is the only place that talks about Christ and his death/resurrection, but God's plan of salvation is throughout ALL of Scripture. After Jesus' resurrection, on the road to Emmaus, "...then beginning with Moses and with all the prophets, He explained to them the things concerning Himself in all the Scriptures." (Luke 24:27)

Many people have tried to destroy the Bible, but have and will not succeed. It is a powerful Book (Hebrews 4:12).

mrsmama: I'm really looking forward to playing with the camera. I know it's just an entry level DSLR, but I can already see the difference in quality of the photos. Now if I can just figure out all of the menus/settings!

Hope you and your families have a blessed Easter/Resurrection Sunday!

The new camera looks great! Remember, it is a need, not a want.

Hello Keith.
Your new "toy" caught my eye.
I hope to get one soon.
I'm a bit partial to Canon, but Nikon is also wonderful!
Have fun!

Trazomfreak: Actually, I was a Canon person for some time, but I went to Best Buy and I could actually see a difference between the Canon and the Nikon. I have a friend that has a Canon Rebel XT; it takes some really nice pics. I think alot of it depends on who's BEHIND the lense. My very amateur opinion.
