Former Rep. Mark Foley

Former Rep. Mark Foley of Florida has checked himself into an alcohol rehab center. He stated earlier today:

I strongly believe that I am an alcoholic and have accepted the need for immediate treatment for alcoholism and other behavioral problems...

I think he should have checked himself into a "I Like to Send Dirty Text Messages to Children" Rehab Center. And since when did being an alcoholic become an excuse for being a perv!? I'm sure Foley would have eventually turned himself in -- had he not gotten caught.

Of course, I still believe in Santa Clause and the Tooth Fairy, too.

EDIT: 10.03.06 According to an AP story today ...disgraced former Rep. Mark Foley said through his lawyer Tuesday that he was abused by a clergyman as a teenager, but accepts full responsibility for sending salacious computer messages to teenage male pages.

  • So why bring it up?!
  • Who else SHOULD take responsibility?!

I'm doing fine, but thanks for asking. I just get frustrated -- especially when adults who should know better do terrible things to defenseless children. My heart just breaks to think of the little girls that were killed recently. I can't imagine how scared they must have been. I don't understand a heart that is so evil that they would purposely set out to harm a child.

But then, I guess I shouldn't be so surprised. We both know that the "heart is desperately sick" (Jer 17:9). All the evil, the sick things that are going on lately (i.e. Congressman Foley, etc.) makes me wish Jesus would go ahead and make some "travel arrangements."

I appreciate your concern. How are you doing? No baby yet , eh?

NO, 9 more weeks!! Wich means 9 more weeks of growing!! GOODNESS!!
Yeah it is so terribly sad the things that are going on, it makes me so so sad, my heart breacks so much becuase I know how much God loves these people that are doing such evil things. He died for these people, in the midst of there evil. It blows my mind away and makes me want to shake them and say "Dont you understand the gift you were given, repent and turn away from this evil!!" I just know were they are most likely headed and its not what God wants for them.
You know I say all this but in honesty if that was JOsiah that had been hurt or killed by someone like that my first thought would be that I would want to kill them myself. I know its easy to have mercy on someone that hasent hurt you in that way. So when I think of it that way i definetly feel that anger!
