It's Called Sin

CNN reported today:

A majority of Americans believe that gays and lesbians could not change their sexual orientation even if they wanted to, according to results of a CNN/Opinion Research Corporation poll released Wednesday.

It's the first time in a CNN poll the majority has held that belief regarding homosexuality.

Fifty-six percent of about 515 poll respondents said they do not believe sexual orientation can be changed. In 2001, 45 percent of those responding to a CNN/USA Today/Gallup poll held that belief. In 1998, according to a CNN/Time poll, the number was 36 percent. (Source here

Gay and lesbian behavior is not "orientation"...it's called sin. And it really doesn't matter what Americans think it is or call it.

"...God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women excanged the natural function for that which is unnatural, and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error." --Romans 1:26-27 (NASB)

I referred to the wrong title in the first post, so I am reposting.

EXACTLY! And according to Jay Sekulow and AFA, gay and lesbian activists are trying to make it a law that we are NOT allowed to call it such! I have a post on my blog about this very issue. It's called "Do Not Be Conformed".

I agree. I hate itw hen people say. Why would God make me this way if it was wrong..........There is someone that used to go to my church that struggled with homosexuality and became saved and thru a number of years and his determination he is now happiliy married and has a beautiful little boy! Thought you might liek to hear a positive story of God changing a life, not just a bunch of people blaming God for there sin and saying that hes ok with it!

What if the poll said, "A majority of Americans believe that people are born sinful and cannot change their sinfulness even if they wanted to"?

So why is it a surprise when we actually name the sin?

Anthony:
1) A poll question phrased as you suggested would probably send most people through the ceiling. The majority of people that I work with believe that humans are basically good; born that way. Being a "five-pointer", I would agree with your poll question.

2) We (I) really shouldn't be surprised by the sin (named or nameless) embraced by the unbelieving world. They are only acting out what they really are: unsaved, unregenerated, God-haters. Until God, convicts by His Spirit, draws, and converts them, that is what they will continue to be.

It is sad though, to see the things the world embraces, they way they act, the things they chase after, etc...none of which can bring them true, fulfilled lives--much less bring them salvation.
