A Non-Biblical Defense

If you can't make your case from Scripture, just use crude language. It may not make your point, but it will certainly catch people's attention. WARNING: Very crude language for a supposedly "Christian blog."

Apparently, some of these guys (another Christian blog) think the "favorite song" is appropriate. I look forward to hearing how they work it in to a Sunday morning sermon.

PS: Todd (you know who you are), I tagged this one "blasphemy" just for you.

You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

I know. You and I don't understand the word in the same way. Which kinda follows the logic of the referenced blog ("My Favorite Song"). The post-moderns/emergents don't understand some words the same way I do, hence, they are quite comfortable using some of them in everyday conversation or songs.

But that doesn't give us the right to tell them they are wrong! (That makes them really mad when you do that.)

Oh, no...you can tell them they're wrong. But wrong doesn't always equal blasphemy.

That "song" is nothing more than an occassion for the flesh. Using your liberty for uncleanness is sin.

Henry (Rick): I couldn't agree with you more. Looks like your buddies at CRN.Info see it differently.

I seem to notice that Tim in particular has become a little "angry" in some of his posts lately. Also, I find it interesting that the CRN.Info post re: the same topic appears to have the contributors/regular commenter attacking one another.

I quit reading over there on a regular basis several weeks ago (I did drop by for a comment yesterday) because I just didn't/don't see the sense in it. One blog (CRN.Info) exists for the primary purpose of critiquing/demeaning basically TWO people (Ken and Ingrid), in hopes of dispelling what they believe to be misinformation. But...I wonder if the energy expended is accomplishing anywhere near what they think/hope it will. People like myself eventually get tired and leave. The only ones that stay are those that agree with them, and again, the topic range is pretty small. I've never seen anyone change their mind about Ken or Ingrid because of anything that was said/posted at CRN.Info. AND, it doesn't appear that their efforts are having any impact on Ken's or Ingrid's posts. They are still finding all kinds of silliness attempting to pass itself off as "Christianity."

No offense, but frankly, I don't understand why you hang around over there.

Todd: I guess you could tell them they are wrong…but they wouldn't listen. In fact, in some cases, they couldn't even hear you for all the shouting they're doing.

Keith, we agree on something! I too think that CRN.info is getting silly and pointless. However, reading your critique of them is quite humorous to me in light of the original CRN and SOL - two sites that are equally as impotent.

Actually Keith, I'd argue the other way around. The arguments against using culturally mandated naughty words are all extra Biblical.
